Soliloquy of the Soul

Soliloquy – noun; an act of speaking one’s thoughts aloud by oneself or regardless of any hearers, esp. by a character in a play

Soliloquy of the Soul is a place for people who are just trying to figure it all out – how to live, how to love, how to be happy.  How to ferret out the deeper meanings of life and truly fulfill our purpose for existing.

My name is Kim Brewer Allen, and I am a Truth Seeker, a Soul Speaker, and a Lightworker.  I am here to share my journey in the hopes that it helps others on their own.  This Perfect Little Christian Girl had a spiritual awakening and evolved into something I never thought I’d be.  It’s been terrifyingly exhilarating.

So here is my Soliloquy of the Soul – my journey into myself and giving a voice to what I find.  Letting go of old belief systems and opening up to new.  And all the pain and joy that follows.

I have always felt very close to the inner being inside me.  That’s why I was such a strong, active, vocal Christian when I was younger.  I couldn’t quite explain everything, but I just felt good and at ease deep down knowing that I was doing the right thing and on the right path to being a good person.  It was when the church started telling me that these things were “wrong” and urged me to do things that my inner being was not comfortable with that I really started to question all that I said I believed.

I decided to learn and discover on my own and follow my own heart.  I have always been told that God is within me and that God is love, and I still believe those things with every ounce of my being.  And it is there that I want to begin.  LOVE.  This is the one thing that most people (regardless of religion or cultural background) can agree on, and I believe that it is from here that we must all start.  There’s a lot that can be fixed in the world if people are able to just accept their differences and move on together in love for the greater good.

So I am opening up the conversation and giving a voice to the generation who just wants to do good things in the world – regardless of whether or not they even believe in God.  Though this blog will have a spiritual tone, I hope it can give practical, down-to-earth information on how to live life to the fullest and be proud of the person you are.

I’ve always been a writer, and I feel I’ve always been a helper.  I traded the old lock-key journal for a blog back in college, and I’ve been documenting my life on the regular ever since.  I always felt that sharing my journey could help someone else on their own journey, and my servant’s heart has always just wanted to help!  It’s why I’ve always been in childcare or education.  My desire to help also requires me to be informed, so I also consider myself a life-long learner.  I hold bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education and a whooooooooole lotta life experience.  I have studied religions and philosophies, astrology and divination, and health and wellness. Evidence-based, non-biased science is my jam.  I am also a “back to the basics” sorta human and strive to live with less technology and more nature in and around me as much as possible.  (The human body really is an amazing thing if we nurture it rather than stunt or poison it.)

So I am taking all that I’ve read and learned over the last two decades of life and compiling it here.  Instead of teaching academics, I am looking forward to spending time educating others on what it means to be a good human and how to live their best lives.
