Acknowledge Your Divinity

Sometimes, it’s really hard to love ourselves.  No one knows us better than ourselves.  We know all the deep, dark secrets.  We know all the good things, but also all the bad.  And we’re an oppressed society that is made to feel inadequate in as many ways as possible.  It’s hard for us to believe that deep down, we are inherently good, loving beings.  But it’s true!

We are divine.  We are creative, powerful, beautiful beings!  We have these smokin’ hot bodies and amazing personalities that just radiate with cosmic splendor.  Our society has been living too long putting our innate, divine essence on the back-burner.  It’s even been impressed upon us that acknowledging and embracing this part of ourselves is gloating and egotistical.

But it is time for us to shine our divine essence!  I love the following Marianne Williamson quote.  It always gives me that boost of self-confidence I need.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.”
– Marianne Williamson

Keeping our light to ourselves in fear of not wanting to seem proud, vain, or egotistical isn’t serving anyone.  Be proud of the amazing creature that you are and know that you are here to kick-ass and experience all the greatness this world has to offer!

Our species is evolving to the point where science is actually starting to prove just how divinely powerful we are.  The sayings of ancient mystics and sages are being manifested in quantum and particle physics.  The recent discovery of the Higgs boson (aka “The God Particle”) is HUGE in this regard.  They call it the God Particle because it is what caused the “Big Bang” that created our Universe however many years ago.  It is also what joins everything together and gives it matter.  It is what connects every single physical thing on our planet.  So in the realm of spirituality, discovering it shows that “God” is indeed (physically and metaphorically) everything, including us.  And our consciousness is what gives it Life.

When you are able to grasp how truly divine you are, loving yourself comes easily.  Once you’ve fully understood your role in the Universe, your heart is filled with nothing but joy and gratitude, and you are love expressed.

We all have this within us, and we are all powerful, beautiful beings.  Jesus was right, we too are Gods and we can do all that he can do.  He even said that we would do greater works than he (John 14:12).  But in order to do so, we must acknowledge our divinity, accept it, and fully love ourselves.

If you want to bring more good into your life, you have to love yourself.  In order to love yourself, you have to accept yourself.  And once you’re able to fully accept yourself as the divine being that you are, then loving yourself comes easy!

Acknowledge Your Divinity Meditation

I am a beautiful creature here to express the Divine.

I am a carrier of the light.  All that I think, say, and do expresses Divinity.

I release the fear of not being worthy, and I accept the truth of who I am.
